Dementia

Dementia is not a specific disease but is rather a general term for the impaired ability to remember, think and make decisions that interferes with doing daily activities. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common type of dementia, however there are many other causes such as stroke, brain injury, Parkinson’s disease and Huntington’s disease. Though it mostly affects older adults, it is not part of normal ageing.
